
Since the graph of internet marketing has been on an upward movement; different IT specialists are using different ways to promote website and products of a company. Profile
link building is one of the ways used by these IT specialists. This kind of marketing method has not been there for long. According to this technique, one can create profiles on different Social Medias, Forums, Web 2.0 and many others. These sites allow a user to put their websites URL and description about their websites; a user can use this opportunity to post their websites URL and anchor text links to their profile.
A problem has arisen and according to this problem a lot of conspiracy and confusion have taken place about
link building. Some believe that this method is useful to increase search engine ratings and others say that this does not work at all. People have taken opportunity and cheated many people with this worth less method.
According to my research this process is a complete failure.
It’s not the quality but quantity of backlinks that is important. When one connects with another site, the site transfers link juice to the site; this is dependent upon the popularity of the website one is linking with. The site you have connected with can only provide you link juice if that site already has a lot of backlinks and PR. If that site does not have any backlinks or its popularity is low with Google then that site cannot transfer any link juice.
There are very little profiles that get indexed by them, but most of them do not and never receive the lime light. Those who are planning to run a campaign of link building should get those profile pages indexed. If you want Google to find those pages then you will have to bookmark or ping those profiles.
The link juice is transferred from that page which you have linked with and you do not receive any link juice from the main page of the link you are connected with. The inner page should be linked with the key index page otherwise; technically speaking the inner webpage is not at all linked. The question arises: what kind of authority or link juice can be transferred if the inner pages are not even connected to the main index page?
Well you have your common sense and I’m sure that you might have the answer yourself; the answer according to my study is that
profile link building does not work at all.
It take very long to first find the places and websites where you add profile pages, then you have to build your pages by adding links, and in the end you have to promote these profiles so that Google would index them. Doing all this is not worth off as it does not provide enough value. It’s better to stay with so called traditional methods such as article submission, directory submission and social bookmarking as they are always reliable.
