Real-Time Search: Google Has Realized Its Value At Last

At last, Google has implemented functional real-time search without spelling it out exactly. It is an open secret that their hands were forced due to overwhelming pressure from audience and new players in the Search field. The latest addition of Twitter Search in its homepage was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

With even Twitter going in for real-time search option in its latest revamp, Google is literally forced to think along similar lines. The audience demand for real-time search is increasing day-by-day with the popularity of real-time search engines that are practically newcomers to the field.

Audience wants search results based on current events rather than more established content. Due to the tremendous pressure, Google is tinkering with their search algorithms to have search results reflecting more on current events. A bit of research on Google search will reveal this.

The sites that appear in the first page of search results lose their status in a matter of days, to pages with more backlinks and more popularity, appearing in the following days. If a more recent page with more backlinks in short duration enter the scene, it gets better ranking in real-time search engines. This is the long and short of real-time search. And Google has started working towards it.

Google Trends is useful in analyzing the popularity of search terms over days, months and years. These observations are used to feed real-time search, where the trends change every hour or minute.
