Google Street View has captured the imagination of the Net users worldwide with its novelty and functionality. However, Japanese are not amused. They are plainly concerned over the invasion of privacy by the Google mapping service.

Google Japan is facing a slew of malevolent secondary use of Google Street View images, reports Examiner.com.

A few Japanese has complained that Google Japan took photos of not only street views but also people’s faces, interior of houses and car license number plates, without permission. Google Cash, also known by different names like Google Treasure Chest and Google Money Tree, are trying to lure naïve Net users by misusing the reputation of Google.

They are already on the radar of federal government as explained by Jonathan Hochman recently:

“Google Money Tree, its principals, and related entities allegedly misrepresented that they were affiliated with Google and lured consumers into divulging their financial account information by advertising a low-cost kit that they said would enable consumers to earn $100,000 in six months. One of the ‘o’s of Google logo has been abducted by aliens in a flying saucer. And users are clueless as to why this happened.

Google usually comes up with customized Google logos on special occasions and holidays to liven things up on its homepage. The logo that appeared on Saturday left Google users stumped. Even clicking on the logo, which brought up search results for ‘unexplained phenomenon’ did not help.

Google had earlier released Google Wave to web developers for preview purposes. Now, it is planning to expand its access to 100,000 more users by the end of September.
